The Company
Lindsay Browning has been a part of the arts community in Philadelphia since 2005. She graduated in 2005 from Radford University in VA with a BFA in Dance. Since moving to Philadelphia she has participated both as a dancer and photographer; credits include Danah Bella Danceworks (VA), Ring Dance Theater, Tania Isaac Dance, Merge Dance, Chisena Danza, Visual Artist Jen Goettner, and independent choreographers Shannon Murphy and Jodi Obeid. In addition to Group Motion, Lindsay is currently a member of Scrap Performance Group, Olive Prince Dance, and Idiosyncrazy Productions (Jumatatu Poe). Her work has been presented in Philadelphia and Virginia, as well as at the American College Dance Festival in 2005. She has worked with Princeton University and Temple University as a photographer and is currently displaying work at Black & Brew Café in South Philly. lindsay

Marie Brown moved to Philadelphia from Jacksonville, Florida in 2005. While in Jacksonville, she studied at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and Florida Ballet. She graduated from Radford University in 2004 with a BFA in Dance. She received scholarships to attend Bates Dance Festival and American Dance Festival where she was honored to work with Gerri Houlihan and Tatiana Bagonova. In Philadelphia, she has worked with Scrap Performance Group, Olive Prince Dance, Merge Dance, Chisena Danza and choreographers Lindsay Browning and Shannon Murphy. She is currently a member of Group Motion Dance Company and looks forward to continuing her experimentation in dance for many years.

John Luna, originally from Texas, moved to Philadelphia in '02 to study at the University of the Arts where he earned a BFA in Modern Dance.  John likes playing video games and reading scifi/fantasy fiction when he isn't throwing people around.  He would like to take the rest of this space to thank his family for always supporting him and believing in his dreams.

Shannon Murphy, an Ohio native has a BA in dance from Point Park University and a Certificate in Dance from ARECA Studio's in Paris France. Since Moving to Philly she has been a part of SCRAP performance group, Dance Theatre X, and has worked with choreographers Nicole Bindler and Kate Watson-Wallace. Her work has been shown in The ARECA Studios Vernissage 2004, The Gemini Theater, The Goose Route Dance Festival, InFlux, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and most recently in Speil Uhr. Shannon is a certified Franklin Method Teacher and is currently training with Eric Franklin

Hedy Wyland, a dancer for Group Motion since 2005, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2003 she received her BFA in modern dance from the University of the Arts, where she was given the award for outstanding modern dancer. She is active in the Philadelphia dance community, performing at many events throughout the area such as: Glue Performance series, The Rocky Awards, The Garden State Dance Festival, Lady Festival, the University of the Arts Alumni Concert, The National Constitution Center and the Wednesday Night performance Series at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. For the past three years she has taken part in the Philadelphia Fringe and Live Arts Festival working with Brian Sanders' "JUNK".

Sara Yassky is a dance artist, educator, organizer, and advocate. Since returning to her hometown of Philadelphia, she has worked with various artists including Olive Prince Dance, Shannon Murphy, Group Motion, and SCRAP performance group. Sara is particularly interested in movement as an experience to connect, unify, and empower communities.
